I’m Layne—I’ve been travelling a lot of the time since 2000, most of the time since 2014, and full time since the end of 2015. So far I’ve lived on all seven continents in 61 countries and counting! 🌎

Over the years, I’ve learned how to travel lavishly, and often without the extravagant price tag. I started Wanderluxed to share my strategies with everyone else who longs to travel in luxury.

I’ve been travelling primarily solo since 2014, so I write a lot of content that’s helpful for other solo travellers. For example, how to stay safe while travelling alone and the best destinations for meeting other people. Most of it is completely relevant to folks travelling as a couple or a group as well, so read away! 🤘

My online travel hacking courses will teach you everything I know about air miles, house-sitting, and other travel hacks. These are the key strategies I use to fly international first class for nothin’ but the tax(!) and stay in beautiful homes all over the world for free.

Qualifications

I have nearly thirty years of experience travelling like my life depended on it. In addition, I’ve been an IATAN-accredited travel agent since 2007. I have a B.A. in Journalism from the University of North Texas and multiple certifications from the Travel Institute—the Certified Travel Associate (CTA) designation and specialist certifications in Sustainable Travel, Egypt, and Costa Rica.

I also have ten years of experience building globally distributed teams for AI companies. Part of my work is leading remote training strategy and setting up fully remote onboarding courses to prepare new hires for their roles.
